Pssst. Here’s a travel secret. Going places in the off-season is the absolute best. Skip long lines, high prices, crowded attractions, and sweaty weather by planning your family vacation for this fall!
Here are three excellent options to consider for autumn adventures:
1. Disney is always a great bet – whether you choose the Land or the World. The parks are full of magic and offer something for all ages. We’ve taken our girls four times and the off-season is our family’s favorite time to visit. Be sure to bring along a plastic umbrella stroller (if you have little ones), plastic reusable water bottles, and a camera!
2. Try a road trip. Pull out your map and get your engine started. Pitch a tent at a national forest. Discover the calm of the sea in autumn. Or find a snowy retreat in a cabin in the woods. A great alternative to hotels is to rent a house on HomeAway.com.
3. Bring out your inner Farmer. Head to a local farm for apple or pumpkin picking and a trek through the corn maze. Some farms also serve up breakfast, put on silly shows, and sell other delicious local wares. Don’t forget plastic bags for your handpicked produce!
Have you ever traveled in the off-season? Where did you go?
